Алексеева выступила с докладом на Первой Всеафриканской конференции по обучению устных и письменных переводчиков в Найроби

 

The First Pan-African Conference for Training Translators and Conference Interpreters was organized by the United Nations Office in Nairobi and took place in Nairobi, Kenya, on February 23-25, 2009. The participants of the Conference discussed major issues related to formation of language professionals training in Africa. In the welcome address to the delegates Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management of the UN Shaaban Muhammad Shaaban mentioned the establishment of St Petersburg School of Interpretation and Translation; he considered its formation under the Memorandum of Understanding between the United Nations and Herzen University as an important step to professional translation and interpretation enhancement. The conference was attended by Director of the School, Irina S. Alexeeva and Honorary President of the School, Vadim N. Kondrashov. Irina Alexeeva made a report about peculiarities of training at the School and the Russian experience which can be of use for our colleagues in Africa.

23-25 февраля 2009 года в Найроби (Кения) прошла Первая Всеафриканская конференция по обучению устных и письменных переводчиков, организованная отделением ООН в Найроби (UNON) . В течение трех дней обсуждались важнейшие вопросы, связанные с развитием переводческого образования в Африке. В своей приветственной речи перед делегатами конференции заместитель Генерального секретаря ООН г-н Шаабан М. Шаабан, в частности, отметил создание Санкт-Петербургской высшей школы перевода и ее формирование под эгидой Меморандума ООН как значительное достижение на пути укрепления позиций профессионального перевода. В конференции приняли участие директор Санкт-Петербургской высшей школы перевода И.С. Алексеева и почетный президент Школы В.Н. Кондрашов. И.С. Алексеева выступила с докладом о специфике преподавания в Школе и о российском опыте, который может быть использован коллегами из университетов Африканского континента.
