On 9 July, 2009 a diploma-awarding ceremony to celebrate the first graduates of St Petersburg School of Interpretation and Translation took place in the main building of the Herzen University (Mariinsky hall).Participants of the ceremony were: Gennady A. Bordovsky, Rector of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia; Valery N. Goloshchapov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Presidency in the North-Western Federal District; Marco Benedetti, Director General of DG Interpretation of the EC; Alexander S. Gorelik, Director of the UN Information Centre (Moscow); Kirill K. Speransky, Chief of the Russian Translation Service, the UN Headquarters in New York; Vadim N. Kondrashov, Deputy Director of the Linguistic Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; other distinguished guests and the press.

The participants highlighted proficiency and bright career prospects of the graduates, wished them success and expressed their confidence in the School’s role as an important training institution for professional interpreters and translators in Russia.

9 июля 2009 г. в Мариинском зале Герценовского университета состоялась торжественная церемония вручения дипломов первым выпускникам Санкт-Петербургской высшей школы перевода.

В церемонии приняли участие: ректор РГПУ им. А.И. Герцена Г.А. Бордовский, Помощник полномочного представителя Президента РФ в СЗФО В.Н. Голощапов, Генеральный директор Генерального директората устного перевода Еврокомиссии М.Бенедетти, директор Информационного центра ООН (г. Москва) А.С. Горелик, начальник Службы русского письменного перевода Отделения ООН в Нью-Йорке К.К. Сперанский, заместитель директора Департамента лингвистического обеспечения МИД России В.Н. Кондрашов и др.

Все отмечали профессионализм и высокий потенциал молодых выпускников, желали им больших успехов и выразили уверенность в том, что Школа внесет большой вклад в подготовку профессиональных переводчиков в России.
